Projects

This year, choose from 11 diverse projects to contribute your skills and passion.
Before the event, familiarize yourself with the projects and meet project leads and fellow participants on our dedicated Mattermost channels: pitches will be super short by design, during the presentations on March 16.

Travel to Europa-Park for CloudFest Hackathon

Europa-Park sits at the heart of Europe, where Germany, France, and Switzerland meet.
Here‘s a quick guide from CloudFest on your travel options by plane, train, car, or bus.

If you travel by car, here are the Google map links for the El Andaluz and Colosseo hotels:

Find here some guidelines for the last steps toward your stay at Europa-Park for CloudFest Hackathon 2024:

1. Traveling from Offenburg to Ringsheim:
  • By train: Deutsche Bahn (DB) offers convenient connections from anywhere in Germany to Offenburg, followed by a quick 20-minute ride to Ringsheim, the closest station to Europa-Park. Plan your trip and check connections here.
  • By taxi: You can take a taxi from Offenburg station to Ringsheim. It’s about a 30-minute ride, but prices vary.
  • By shuttle – SIXT Ride: If you’re moving in a group, consider booking a shuttle with SIXT for a comfy ride.

Important: There’s NO CloudFest shuttle service from Offenburg to Europa-Park before and during the Hackathon.
For your journey back to Offenburg on March 18 and 19, after the hackathon, you can catch the official CloudFest main shuttle.

2. Europa-Park Bus from Ringsheim Train Station:

Ringsheim station is your gateway to Europa-Park.

  • Hop on the Europa-Park Bus for a quick ride to your hotel.
  • Remember: Get off at the Hotel Bell Rock stop. It’s a short walk to the Colosseo, El Andaluz, and Santa Isabel hotels.

Your Accommodation

Your accommodation and booking details for either Hotel El Andaluz or Hotel Colosseo are available in your CloudFest account dashboard. Remember, hotel bookings can’t be altered based on personal preference.

Check-In Info:

Standard check-in begins at 15:30. However, should your room become available ahead of this time, you are welcome to check in earlier and settle in at your convenience.

March 16, 2024

9:00 – 11:00: Badge Pickup at CloudFest Info Counter – Santa Isabel
The CloudFest Info counter will be open exclusively for hackathon attendees in the lobby of the Santa Isabel Hotel. Get your badge early, beat the queue, and prepare for an exciting start!

Afterward, you’ll be able to get your badge directly from Carole Olinger, Head of CloudFest Hackathon, during the event.

The Venue

Set within the charming Santa Isabel Hotel, inspired by historic Portuguese monasteries, the CloudFest Hackathon 2024 offers an unmatched blend of old-world ambiance and modern conveniences.
The Convento serves as our primary space, with the Refectorium providing additional room for creative endeavors.

Dedicated Project Areas

Eight projects will unfold in the Convento, with three more in the Refectorium, ensuring ample space for all participants. Important updates will be live-streamed between these areas so that you won’t miss a beat.

Wi-Fi Access

Stay connected with the “Confertainment” network, accessible throughout the venue. Alternatively, you can use the network “Hotelresort”.

Luggage Storage Information

For Early Arrivals (March 15)

You can check into your room starting from 15:30 and get settled. If you arrive earlier, feel free to explore Europa-Park or relax in the hotel’s common areas.

Arriving on March 16 or 17?

We understand you’re eager to dive into the hackathon activities. We assume your room isn’t ready upon your morning arrival, but here’s what you can do with your luggage:

Staying in the Hotel El Andaluz?
This hotel is conveniently located right next to our main venue, the Santa Isabel. Please visit the reception desk to store your luggage in their secure room until your afternoon check-in.

Staying in the Colosseo Hotel or elsewhere?
You can store your luggage at either the Santa Isabel or your respective hotel’s luggage storage area. Just approach the reception desk and inform them of your check-in later that day.

For safety and security reasons, storing luggage in hotel corridors or lobbies is strictly prohibited.
Please use the designated luggage rooms the hotels provide to keep the venue organized, safe, and clutter-free.
